A Spooktacular Halloween Party!

Halloween Party HFHC

Staff from across Home From Home Care’s 11 homes from around Greater Lincolnshire worked together to arrange the ‘Halloween Spooktacular’. The specialist care provider’s growing team empowers young adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex physical and mental health challenges, to live rich and rewarding lives with expert support to fit their needs.

As part of our mission to empower young adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex physical and mental health challenges to live rich and rewarding lives we helped our residents have a howling good time this Halloween.

Held at M.A.C Leisure in Nocton, Lincolnshire, on Saturday 30th October, the party was specially catered to the varied needs of the individuals who use Home From Home Care’s services. Party-goers were treated to an array of stimulating activities, such as a devilish disco with a live band, hog-roast, cheesecake bar and a mystery box sensory game – which invited residents to place their hands inside a series of boxes to guess the contents based on texture and other tactile sensations.

Facilities and events manager at Home From Home Care, Laura Hurst, said: “The individuals we support thoroughly enjoyed the party this year, especially the mystery boxes, which we made sure to make a staple ingredient in our evening of eerie entertainment!

“We’re lucky to be supported by an extraordinary team who really love what they do. The joy that they feel caring for the individuals is tangible at every turn – our staff made a conscious effort to hand-make decorations and props to add a personal touch tailored to each resident and their distinct tastes.

“We even had colleagues set up a bespoke photo booth to ensure that all the individuals can enjoy a lasting and unique keepsake of the evening – something which we feel is important for building morale and forging friendships.

“I want to say a resounding ‘thank you!’ to all the volunteers. Everyone involved made the event unforgettable – from the drivers ensuring that everyone arrived safely to those setting up in the morning and everybody that helped pack down – the support is simply staggering. To everybody that helped in the homes, to the food and the decorations  – thank you all so much for all your time and your amazing effort.”
