An Out of This World Day Out!

HFHC Days Out

Individuals from Kirk House recently enjoyed a great day out at the National Space Centre in Leicester. This location was chosen
as it was a trip that would appeal to all of the individuals, with plenty of interactive activities for everyone to enjoy.

With six galleries to explore and the UK’s largest domed planetarium, the group had an action-packed day journeying through the solar system. The highlight was certainly the planetarium, watching an immersive 360-degree space show. Everyone loved this journey through space and time and the sensory experience of a full-dome cinema.

The group also enjoyed the hands-on exhibits and interactive touch tables throughout all the galleries. Crammed full of space suits, rockets, satellites and meteorites, the individuals had a wonderful space-themed day out together!

The centre is disability friendly with lifts, ramps and seating for disabled individuals in the auditorium. Staff go free and the individuals pay a disability rate to get in, making it a really cost-effective trip.
