About You

We’re looking for energetic, enthusiastic and compassionate Positive Behaviour Support Workers to join our growing Positive Behaviour Support Team at Home From Home Care. For this role, it is essential that you have recent experience of working with adults or children with learning disabilities as well as a keen drive to make a difference to the lives of the individuals we support.

We look for 5 key qualities in our Colleagues – integrity, self-awareness, humility, passion and pro-activeness. If you hold these, then read on to learn more about this exciting role.

About the Role

As a Positive Behaviour Support Worker your main aim is enhancing the quality of life of the Individuals We Support by providing exceptional direct support as well as developing the skills and capabilities of colleagues within the organisation through coaching and mentoring. This will be achieved via blended approach of hands-on support, staff and service user observations and the creation of Positive Behaviour Support Plans, based upon functional assessment and a formulation of behaviours of concern.

As part of your ongoing development, a comprehensive framework is in place to support your progression and development

Career Progression

Our mentoring scheme gives you skills and knowledge to progress into senior roles FAST, with ongoing training furthering your development. The sky is the limit. You’ll meet great people and learn new things as part of a diverse team where everyone is welcome.

During the 12 month period between 1st December 2018 and 1st December 2019, 22% of our entire team progressed into new roles, with a total of 117 secondments. Furthermore, 96% of our current Registered and Assistant Mangers have been internally promoted, all of whom joined us as Support Workers.

Career Starting Role

As a Positive Behaviour Support Worker we’ll mentor you to support individuals with complex needs as part of our ONE TEAM delivering exceptional care in our specialist homes. Every day is different, where exciting and fun activities encourage the individuals to try new things, learn new life skills, connect with their communities, and live an ‘ordinary’ life. Sometimes, it’s about bringing a surprise horse to a birthday party or arranging an inflatable pub (yes, this happened!).

Your Future

You’ll rapidly gain new skills and experiences, learning from the best so you can move your career forward without delay. With drive and dedication, you can progress into any role, whether it’s becoming a registered manager, IT tech guru, a member of our transitions team, or somewhere in between.

Previous experience in a care role and full UK driving licence is essential. Customer facing, or team lead experience is desirable. If you’re a compassionate, ambitious and dedicated individual, the sky’s the limit with this amazing opportunity.
